You’re all about the pictures,

I’m all for the words.

Together we’re one beautiful story book that’s yet to be.

It’s always something we have to negotiate — the fact that my parents are happy, and yours have never been. I have something to live up to, and if I fail, I still have a family to welcome me home. You have a storyline to rewrite, and a lack of faith that it can ever be done.

You love my parents, I know. But you never get too close. You never truly believe there aren’t bad secrets underneath.

2013 you are a bitch already.

And you are not fucking helping with my “swear less” resolution.

Oh the things I’ll do for a lift to see Basement one last time.

I think i just agreed to go see these live.

Yeah i’m not sure that was such a good decision either.

In New York I found this park. It was just there, on 6th Avenue, in the middle of the craze and the bustle of 40th and 42nd street. And I’m not talking Central Park (although going there was like leaving NYC all together), but Bryant Park. Theres this corner of Bryant park with a library, and chess boards. It was so surreal and yet so perfect. Such a change of pace from the avenue just seconds away. I think thats what I loved most about New York, how varied it is. How easily you can feel like you’re somewhere else.

I fell in love with a building. Not in the weird Channel 4 “I am married to the Eiffel Tower” documentary kind of way. Just in the “I want to go here again and wile away hours of my time with a book sitting on those steps” kind of way.
